Beach Education @ Piha Surf Lifesaving Club

Piha “Beach Ed” programme is a two-hour workshop provided by Piha Surf Life Saving Club, including clubhouse, fitness, and beach education activities. There will be no water entry during the workshop. Learn life-saving knowledge; including how to identify and escape from rip currents and how to practice safe, fun ocean activities. All instructors are fully qualified Surf Lifeguards who have also completed a course on safeguarding children.

Piha Surf Life Saving Club is one of New Zealand’s best. They patrol to the highest standard to keep you safe at one of New Zealand’s busiest, and most unique beaches. Proudly celebrating 80 years of lifeguarding.

Beach Education Overview:

• Housekeeping & Piha SLSC

• Description of program for the day

• Clubhouse & facility tour

• Walk to the Tasman Lookout to spot rips.

• Walk to Lion Lock to discuss the significance of the geology of Piha

• Wrap up at clubhouse

• Free Beach Time

50% ticket / donation will be donated to Piha Surf Life Saving Club - you can also donate to the club on the day.

Please come prepared for your time at the beach, including walking and sunsmart gears.
